My name is Michael Schurig and I am a Sophomore here at Washburn studying Mass Media with an emphasis that I am still deciding on. I am also a baseball player here. In my future I am thinking about covering stats for sports in sports information for articles, newspapers, etc.

Hello all! I’m Grant Capps and I am currently a junior at Washburn majoring in communications and minoring in mass media. I am originally from Lawrence, Kansas and transferred from Sterling college. Some of my hobbies include Basketball, hiking, and exploring/traveling.

This is me and my friend Kaleb at our Woodstock themed social event that we had my freshman year. It was a lot of fun and showed what all Washburn has in store for us.

Hello everyone! My name is Lauryn Massey and I am a freshman Mass Media major with a concentration in Creative Advertising. Some of my hobbies include hammocking, watching Netflix, hanging out with friends, and being outside when the weather is nice.

Mass Media Portfolio and Career Development : Networking Post for Spring 2019

Over the weekend I re-visited my high school to meet with the counselors who played a role in my growing process. As we were speaking she expressed her frustrations with the student body, she said that students were not getting involved in after school actives and supporting one another. She could not figure out why that was. After a few suggestions she asked if I would attend the staff meeting with her to discuss the issue at hand. In the meeting I suggested they utilize their social media platforms of each club and use that to promote and inform students of everything going on. Which they seemed to agree on and are working to put that plan in motion.
